Wir werden häufig darauf angesprochen, dass die Preise für unsere Artikel unangemessen hoch wären.

Wenn Sie unsere Artikel mit Billigstimporten aus China vergleichen, die in 10-tausender Stückzahlen maschinell, meist jedoch in Handarbeit von kaum bezahlten Frauen, teilweise sogar von Kindern, unter menschenunwürdigen Bedingungen hergestellt werden, so haben Sie recht damit, dass unsere Artikel zu teuer sind!

Nehmen wir z.B. eine Weihnachtsfigur aus dem Supermarkt: ca. 10 cm hoch, ein niedlicher Bär in Weihnachtsmannkostüm, detailliert bemalt aus Gießkeramik für nur 1,00 EUR. Ein echter Mörderpreis!

Versuchen Sie nun einmal, eine ähnliche Figur mit den Materialien die Sie hier in Deutschland kaufen können, zum gleichen Preis herzustellen. Zunächst brauchen Sie eine hochwertige Modelliermasse um die Figur zu modellieren. Dann, es soll ja kein Einzelstück werden, kaufen Sie Abformsilikon (gibt’s nicht im Baumarkt!) und stellen eine zweiteilige Giessform her. Nun kaufen Sie eine geeignete keramische Gießmasse (Gips tut es leider nicht), dazu ein Sortiment an Farben.

Sie haben beschlossen eine Kleinserie (100 Stück) Ihrer Figur herzustellen. Für jede Figur brauchen Sie zum Guss, für die Grundierung und Detailbemalung (ohne Trockenzeiten, also tatsächliche Arbeitszeit) rund 1 Stunde. Kalkulieren Sie gerne mal üppige 5,00 Euro Bruttostundenlohn, also pro Figur. Hinzu kommen noch einige geringfügige Kosten für die üblichen Betriebsausgaben (Gewerbesteuer, Beiträge, Strom, Wasser, Heizung, Miete für die Betriebsstätte, etc.), sagen wir mal 50 Cent.

Rechnen Sie nun mal alle Ausgaben zusammen (nicht vergessen, Sie möchten 100 Stück herstellen) und teilen Sie den Betrag durch 100 und Sie erhalten den reellen Preis für Ihr Produkt. Noch was vergessen? Ach ja die Mehrwertsteuer - die muss ja auch noch drauf.

Und was kostet nun Ihre Figur?

Und nun fragen Sie sich bitte, wie gelingt es dem Supermarkt, ein in China hergestelltes Produkt, das um die halbe Welt transportiert wird, über diverse Zwischen- und Großhändler mit derer Gewinnspannen läuft, inklusive 19% Mehrwertsteuer für einen Euro zu verkaufen? Durch Ausbeutung und weit ab vom fairen Handel!

We are often raised that the prices of our product would be unreasonably high.

When you compare our articles with cheapest imports from China, which are made in 10thousands of volumes, handmade by most underpayed women, sometimes even by children under inhumane conditions, you are right so that our products are too expensive.

Take for example a Christmas figure from the supermarket: about 10 cm high, a cute bear in Santa Claus costume, painted detail of casting in ceramics for only 1.00 euro.

A real “killer” price!  Now it`s the turn on you, to produce a similar figure at the same price with the materials that you can buy here in Germany.

First, you need a high-quality modelling-clay to model the figure. Then, yes, it will not be unique, buy silikone (this is not there in the DIY store!). And establish a two-part mold. Now you buy a suitable ceramic casting material (plaster, it does not do), plus an assortment of colors.

You have decide to establish your character on a small lot (100 pieces). For each character you need for the cast, for the primer and paint detail (without drying, so actual working time), about 1 hour. Calculate happy times exuberant 5.00 euro gross hourly wage, for each figure. In addition there are some minor cost of normal business expenses (business tax, contributions, electricity, water, heating, rent of premises, etc.), let's say 50 cents.

Expect now views all expenses together (do not forget, you want to produce 100 units) and then divide the sum by 100 and you get the real price of your product. Something forgotten? Ah yes, the value added tax - which has indeed still on it.

And now what does cost your miniature? And now please ask yourself, how does the supermarket, a product manufactured in China that is being shipped halfway around the world, through various intermediate and wholesalers with those profit margins running to sell 19% tax is for 1.00 euro?

Through exploitation and far from the fair trade!
